There are 35 regional and state agricultural aviation associations throughout the country that represent the regional, state and local interests of aerial application businesses and pilots. These associations are crucial in promoting a fair and reasonable state regulatory environment, substantive educational programming, positive public relations and a variety of other important services for aerial applicators. The state and regional associations are key partners with NAAA in representing the agricultural aviation industry.

One of the most obvious advantages of aerial application is no soil compaction. Driving ground equipment through a field leaves wheel tracks and compacts soil particles, reducing pore space and restricting oxygen and water movement into and through the soil and root zone. That compaction can be particularly bad on wet soils, sometimes making the soil like a brick and reducing yields. Wet soils never stop aerial applicators from spraying.
